Since 1999, Hartmut Gloger addressed in the series "Handy Land" a now well established means of communication. In many variations of the mobile phone is in its external shape and internal structure, both as to-use object as well as independently acting subject illuminated, and challenged. A quote from the artist shows his ambivalent attitude:
"Your cell phone goes with you everywhere;
go or you go anywhere with your mobile phone?
Ambivalent, ambiguous words and questioning how the attitude Gloger is the purely formal implementation of the small device in the large-scale mixed media. It appears as a full-length format "Individuals", as in the painting "Handyma" (1999), or as seemingly endlessly reproduced and juxtaposed contours, reminiscent of human footprints in the sand. This image element that conceptually in - almost - seems all the works of the series in one form or another, is combined with a diverse, abstract-expressionist painting. Again, the viewer meets again on opposites. Besides delicate lineaments and glazes, curving at the subject or obscure, appear hard contours and thickly applied areas, which act as the result of a violent attack, an emotional outburst and overwhelm the image object.
to the latest works of the series can fix some meaning shifts. The focus so far was the autonomy of the mobile phone as an almost living being who conquered his world, the mobile country. Now the aforementioned image "Handyma," a species is - from the familiar Christian iconography -
