Jan Philipp Gloger for staging Clavigo, Theater Augsburg
Director Jan Philipp Gloger receives the Director Award of the Theatre Festival for his production of Goethe's "Clavigo" at the Theater Augsburg.
said the jury:
Finally, a true single price in this year's Bavarian Theater days in Ingolstadt. The jury has another performance overall really liked, but at this now it was a solo performance, which owes the production we believe their outstanding character
Goethe Clavigo of Augsburg Theatre, staged by the young director Jan Philipp Gloger. We have seen a clear set, sharp-profiled performance, in which each of the persons involved had their well-defined course: Both, spatial, with sets by Frank Bornkamm and in content, in the structure of the plot.
Gloger gave us the play, which always clings to the reputation of the brittle, currently living in a translated form, without losing its historical origin, might almost say that it was the historical event to Beaumarchais closer than the play by Goethe.
say What: Gloger, and with it the actor, in the text have discovered the human core and exposed, found the natural in art. The performance was convincing in every moment by their directness, their freshness, their authenticity. Nothing had willed, all seemed already achieved. The actresses and actors appeared to us by real inspiration motivated.
